Why Cor Cooks
I come from a large extended family, 9 uncles and auntie's on mum's side and 8 on Dad's so food was a big thing that always bought the family together, a family party was more like a town gathering. So I was bought up on mum's cupcakes and Lamingtons, all my Aunty's baking, and my uncle's well they fished, dived and hunted so I guest this is just generational, a little like my bald head from dad's side.
I remember swiping 6 fresh cupcakes straight out of the oven long before mum even got a chance to ice them, warm cupcakes are so good. Cakes and cooking was a big thing in our family and still is today with my kids.
Sometimes I will look something up if I am not sure how to cook it, other times I will be riding down a mountain or fishing off a beach and will think something up and just go and try it.
I love when one of my kids friends comes up and asks me to bake them some cupcakes, or look at me confused and ask"You made these from scratch", like that's so cool.
There is also nothing better then cooking fresh homemade food for my family whether the ingredient were bought or harvested from the land, sea or rivers, and besides my family are my biggest critics and fans.
The name Cor Cooks was my Daughters idea, being an aussie we shorten most things so I was always called Cor, but this one day I was sitting watching a mountain bike clip on Youtube and the creator was Rob Rides, my daughter walked pasts and said, "Hey Dad Rob Rides, you should call yourself Cor Cooks", so that was that, Cor Cooks it was.
I am not a chef or a cook, I am a stay at home dad that just loves cooking, it's in the genes.
Quality
Quality is always key when it comes to food, cheap will always be cheap unless it's from the source, and when I say source, I mean a road side market outside a farm, free range game from the land, fish from a river or lake, or freshly caught seafood from our oceans, there is no better supermarket then nature itself.
Using quality ingredients will always make your food better.
